The Tavern Woodworker's Guild was established in 2008 under the sponsorship of the RH/HT Foundation Inc.
The Guild is organized primarily for educational purposes, including:
- to encourage and facilitate the establishment of training programs for aspiring woodworkers
- to disseminate information about sources of material and equipment
- to expose the art of woodworking to the public
- to make items typical of the tavern era for sale to the public
- to provide information about woodworking for the general public
Any person, firm, school, museum engaged in/or interested in woodworking may become a member.
Our period woodworking shop is located downstairs in the Carriage House and is open for display on Fridays 10am - 3pm and during Farmers Markets. We also have an active working modern shop upstairs for members. We meet off-site on Wednesdays.
The Guild makes products to sell in the shop, Tavern gift shop and at Farmers Markets. Recently, the Guild taught a well-attended Heritage Arts class in making an heirloom-quality wooden Kaleidoscope.
